Trip to Germany .... anyone interested?
Discussion
Does anyone fancy joining in on a trip to Germany in late May? There are currently a group of 8 of us off to Germany over the late May bank holiday weekend to stay in a town called Bad Mergentheim. (None of us have been there before!!) We plan to get the Dover/ Dunkurque ferry on the morning of Thursday 22nd May to then ride directly to our hotel (about 500 miles). Well stay there until the morning of Tuesday 27th when we’ll ride directly back to Dunkurque and return to Dover in the late afternoon.
The hotel we will stay at is a local, family owned, 3 star hotel with bar and restaurant and we’ll be staying B&B.
The group is all male aged in the 40 to 55 group with riding abilities ranging from pretty new through to very experienced. The bikes are mostly in the sports/tourer category and the riding style tends to be brisk but sensible. (Everyone rides to their own ability!)
From previous trips each day normally involves breakfast at the hotel (with big discussions as to where we’re going that day) followed by a day trip of between 100 and 250 miles to see various sites (often WWI or WWII related). Return to the hotel in the evening ready for a meal in town and a glass or two of local brew. Day trip routes are usually planned by looking at the map to see what looks like good twisty roads and heading roughly that direction.
If you are interested in joining in on the trip or would like some more information then please drop me an e-mail via my profile.

Update for anyone who is interested. The hotel where we are booked in is now full!
There has been some response from the PH Biker community and I have found that there are other local hotels that have some space, so if you are interested then please let me know as soon as possible and I’ll see if I can get a group together and book a second hotel.
Just so you know where we’re going, the multimap link is
http://www.multimap.com/maps/?hloc=DE|bad%20mergen...
and hotel costs tend to be in the £50 - £60 per night with meals, drink and petrol on top of that. The ferry is currently £40 for the return trip so, while the trip is not really cheap, it’s not too bad either.
