Stretched throttle cable
Discussion
Purely by chance noticed the throttle cable is a bit slack, actually only getting about 80% throttle opening.
Could not really see any means to remove this slack as there is no adjustment left on the outer stop on the throttle body, unless there is some other way?
Having only had the car 5 months, it has probably been like this for a while. Could be the cheapest power upgrade ever

Yes it is, pedal hits the end stop and the butterfly is definitely not fully open. There is a good inch or so of slack in the inner cable and I can lift the accelerator pedal up a couple of inches before the slack is taken up.
Anyway have ordered a complete new cable assy so will replace the whole lot I think
Being an unfamiliar car I just never noticed before!

If you're going to replace the cable you will have to undo the adjuster anyway, so you have nothing to lose by just adjusting it first. Unless the existing cable is frayed or sticking, there's really no reason to replace it. The cable itself won't have stretched, it'll just be the adjuster set wrong. The adjuster looked pretty much wound out from what I could see, maybe only a couple of turns left at most and I need to take up at least half an inch of slack.
I think either the angled metal 'outer' stop at the pedal end has bent down slightly (from what I can see) and or the outer cable assy has collapsed and been compressed at the same point.

I guess you'll have an end stop on the pedal too (not standard on my V8S but I think it is on the Chimaera), any scope to increase the travel at that end?
If you can see signs of the cable outer being damaged/collapsed that would require immediate replacement, but I've never heard of that happening before.

where r u finding this slack specifically - where would I look to check? please use short words for dumbos
Have an assistant press the accelerator pedal and look in the area of the silver metal box which sits atop the big hot noisy thing under the bonnet.Hopefully as they pump the pedal you will see bits moving/rotating. Get them to hold the pedal fully down and see if you can rotate that rotating bit further using your finger. If you can then adjustment is required.
