Is it right if your temperature sender cable capillary has came off and you want a new one you have to change the gauge as well as it is an all in one component, any ideas of repair the end capillary was totally corroded

Cheers

so do you have to take out gauge & cable for the repair or can cable disconnect somehow?, what about the capillary end as it was totally unservicable?

cheers

All i said on my original e-mail to them, was that it didnt work, and thats the price they said it would be. http://www.speedycables.co.uk/ ask the question there quick to reply.

Only problem was that they said it could take up to 15 days

Has anyone else actually taken off the pipe that the sensor{s} are housed in? As I'm replacing all of mine for stainless ones, I did, whilst totally descimating the capilary hehe

Have you seen how much the water flow must be restricted with the two protruding sensors inside the pipe in such close proximty? Has anyone thought of modifying this aspect of the cooling system?

Hi, The gauge and capillary are one, it's a sealed system, either liquid or vapour filled, temperature goes up, pressure in capillary goes up and gauge goes up.
Repair would be repairing the fracture or replacing the capillary then refilling.
It's a standard type instrument, ( if a tad old fashioned !)so there are a few places that can repair them.
