What is the sealant used for sealing the rear lights, and where do i get some?

I have a few gaps that need filling. The 400 is in for a service Monday at Barnet, and it's on the list to do, but they'll probably charge £80 to do it!

I've always used silicon bathroom sealent - in either black or clear. I don't know if its the right stuff or not but it doees the job.

You could use sikaflex but it sets as hard as st and in the event you wanted to remove a rear light, you'd probably have to break the light to remove it!

Top tip for this stuff is to put silver foil over the end if there's some left in the tube - keeps it fresh for next time.

Or screw a nice big oversize screw into the end of the nozzle.

Go to local Builders Merchant and get a tube of Sikaflex 11FC, or Sikaflex EBIT if they dont have the 11FC. Big advantage of a PU sealant in this area rather than a silicone is that when you cut the old sealant out to remove the light you dont have to worry about removing all the residue as it will stick to itself when you reinstall.

Construction stuff is cheaper than the Automotive versions and is very similar!
