Noobs. Am I one? (COD 4)
Discussion
Hello
I have played COD4 for about 7 hours on a mates PC. I generally get eaten alive every time I play. I seem to get killed twice as much as I kill others (apart from the level on the ship, I kick ass with an MP5 on there).
Does this make me a Noob?
I tend to just play random servers I can find that work and they are always just blow the s
te out of everything and everyone runs around getting killed a lot. Are there servers where things are a little more grown up and tactical?
How can I stop being a Noob if I am one?

Play more.
What ^^^^ said. Also try and scout the maps. On the 360 version you can start a private match by yourself and wander round looking at hideaways and trying jumps. There are also loads of youtube tips etc....
What servers do you guys use?
That’s a good idea.. I don’t have the 360, but I sometimes load into servers that say they have people in but don't. I guess I should look around a little.

The more you play, this happens:I have played COD4 for about 7 hours on a mates PC. I generally get eaten alive every time I play. I seem to get killed twice as much as I kill others (apart from the level on the ship, I kick ass with an MP5 on there).

1) You get access to weapons which suit your style
2) You complete challenges which result in you finding new ways of using weapons
3) You use those weapons at the right time, and in the right way.
4) Most importantly, you get to know the maps like the back of your hand.
As you have found, the proof of this is that you are getting to know the Shipment level, and you have found that the relatively small distances involved means that an MP5 is a great weapon. You are right.
I really would recommend picking up the points for each of the weapons you 'open' and also the other challenges. As you in a sense, 'force' yourself out of your comfort zone of using different weapons you are also adding to your skills. For example, you will get to learn a hell of a lot more about the maps if you are aiming to get 100 kills, or even harder the 150 headshots with one of the sniper rifles. You get to learn to pick hidden areas with a long view and a 'target zone' out of the vision and weapons range of others.
Going back to the Shipment level, I have had 25 kills and no deaths on that one with my team winning Domination easily with me patrolling as a sniper from one of the turrets. I kept clear all of the high points on the map from one end to the other to make sure all the rest of my team had to do was win the game on the floor level. A lot of the maps have points where as a sniper you can cover one or even two flags.
When you are good, you get to work out where these points are...!
Keep at it though, its worth it in the end!
