Right, now I got the bike and some training behind me (DAS coming in April) I've had enough of being treated like a sardine on the way into London, so it's time to start riding to my clients so as to make me more cheerful of a morning smile

I saw a chap lately with what looked like "robust" shoe/boots and trousers that I could get away with at some less-formal places I visit, but haven't found anything in Metropolis or Hein Geriche like then...

Any advice in how to arrive as immaculate as possible when I have no proper facilities to change and have to carry everything on my back?

TIA

DHL the day before, disabled loo. job jobbed.

For one day jobs, when you can get away with business casual, polo shirt and chinos type thing, folded as flat as possible, for as short a time as possible, and a pair of shoes. Increases the rucksack carrying no end.

One day suited jobs = dont take the bike.

Other alternative is suits shirts shoes at each of the places you'll be visiting...

Short hair cut, non-iron shirts and put your shoes and trousers in your rucksack. Leave a jacket and ties at work.

Or looking like you got out of bed more than six and a half minutes before you got there wink

I have my shirts folded at the dry cleaners, and you can get some pretty good non crease trousers. Have a look in Rohan, they specialise in that sort of thing - not for bikes specifically, though.

Full suit? Erm, take the train.

Thanks folks, figured as much - bike commuting for scruffy clients only, and for dress-down Fridays when not visiting the pub afterwards...

Found a pair of trousers at HG yesterday that might just fit the bill at aforementioned scruffy client, smarter than jeans and not dissimilar to smart casual wear, except for the HG logo down the leg and the bumps of knee armour that is!
