...this.

Because according to “official” sources the value has dropped by £1200 month on month – ouch.

However a Jaguar S-type 4.2R has dropped by £1525 – even bigger ouch.

But I love my monaro - it's only £500 lighter!

And.................... believe it or not residual value was not a top concern when buying my VXR8. If it was I would have bought a used 911. So glad I didn't. Totally agree with chrispaull, love this car.

Last 3 months VXR8 has dropped around £800 in total not per month in the glass's guide, 1200 a month is way off the mark.

Looked at buying a 911 new or used, drove the 996 and 997S, as a performance car a big letdown after stepping from an EVO 9. Bought the Monaro did not miss the EVO. I expect I would feel the same about the VXR8. There is something about them.

As would I - I loved my 911s and miss them dearly but the Monaro has something... well, it has that V8. tongue out

Probably a 997S or the Camaro next for me. Depreciation be damned.

Maybe, and I throw this in for considration only, it's people not caring about depreciation that allows the values to plummet so much?

Er, How's that work exactly then?? confused

It's all down to supply and demand surely, there's never likely to be a huge queue of UK buyers for these type of cars, so prices will drop big time! Now maybe if they half the price of fuel.. Game on.....

Any big V8 saloon will drop like a stone for a couple of years, let alone with a Vauxhall badge on it, and then the rate might slow down as people realise what a huge amount of car for the money they're getting. And considering what a massive new price drop the Monaro went through, it seems that secondhand 6ltr VXR's have done reasonably ok depreciation wise recently in the last few months?
