Kit car forum biggrin

From my ownership of kit cars over the years, there's always something to do. Whether it needs doing immediately doesnt matter, it'll need doing at some point.

Your choice of engine will largely dictate what you'll need to do and look out for. X Flows, CVH's, V8's and all manner of other engines get stuffed into these.

You should be able to get a roadgoing, complete car for that sort of money. There's other cheaper options in the Seven world. If you're not in any rush to buy it might be worth checking out a few kit car shows coming up

A mate of mine built himself a very nice Tiger for about £8k, with a 2.0 Vauxhall redtop on Jenvey TBs, 180bhp and 600kgs

I know they're not great pics but it's the yellow one:

Hopefully the mods will move this to the kit car forum as you'll get more responses in there I suspect.

Your best bet is to go to this site and ask over there. They're a great community and it is aimed at exactly the kind of cars you'll be looking at.

Just to second what gingerpaul said. Come on over to the locost site. You may however be told NOT to get a caterham/westfield at that price, as it may be a little bit ropey. Personally I'd look further down the system a bit, as it where. Tiger, MK, Luego, GTS, MNR and Mac1 are the more mainstream, but smaller/less well known varieties, and as such tend to be cheaper. I got my bike engined MK Indy for £5K, so there are bargains out there.
