One Motorbike per Camping Pass! Any ideas?

How rubbish is that?!

Anyone found a good way round this?

Three friends are coming down on bikes and I have one Camping Pass left. I thought that would be fine as you can get a car full of people in on one Pass! But apparently you have to have one pass per bike.

Was thinking of ways around it. If we parked the bikes up in one of the public car parks and then the boys just walked into the campsite with their gear - do you think the bikes would remain untouched?

is it possible to get a few of you in, then one person take some passes out for the rest?

so 2 people use 1 pass at different times?

Thanks for the thought T Pot. The difficulty is that they get super strict on 'sticking' your Camping Pass to your windscreen (not sure where it goes on a bike?), so it's a good idea, but could go wrong if we can't get a pass off it's first sticking place!

So just need a few contingency plans and this is useful, thanks

Weve got the same problem, ie/ 2 guys coming down on bikes and one camping pass between them. We had thought if one bike goes in and then 1st rider walks back out and gives 2nd rider the camping pass. Problems may be
1/ The st-blanket like quality of the glue may prevent removal of pass from 1st bike
2/ The camping police may spot the bike without a permit and remove it!
3/ Who cares, I'm in my nice warm/dry car.

The camping passes switched last year to the type that you hang of your rear view mirror. You could be stopped from sharing if a bar code/scanning system is introduced. That'll be obvious once the tickets arrive of course.

But surely the bikes are just parking up in the campsite, rather than actually camping, no? So all they need is their GA passes. Worked for me last year in Houx. Obviously this is dependent on a car meeting them outside and all luggage/rucksacks going in the boot.

Curious as to whether this will work in HA this year...

I found that they scanned you general entry tickets in and out.

Campsite wise we just drove in and out willy nilly. no problems there then. But as said, if they do introduce it, then you'll be in stuck.

Sticking the pass on the windscreen: We used electrical tape. Ran a little bit along the top and the same for the bottom. Makes for easy removal and in turn, no hours spent trying to get the damn things off your car when back on home shores.

Bikes and all you mean..... hmm. Could be worth a go, cos' I suppose it won't be that easy to attach a pass to a bike, so if you decide to go out, you'll be given one of those re-entry tickets (that we all get anyway if I remember rightly), thus the problem is solved.... n'est pas?

Yep . BUT - can you get the bikes in to just 'park-up'??

Buy a 50 quid tent, Drive in with bike #1, park inside tent, remove camping pass (that you had secured with your own double sided sellotape), place pass on bike #2, drive in with bike #2, repeat ad nauseum.

Zip up tent when finished, leave last bike outside on display with camping pass attached

Oh hell youve made me feel bad now, but it was their decision to go on bikes even when they knew i was booking thro the TVRCC.....Then asking if they can get 2 bikes in on a car pass??
Now they let slip that the bikes only have 100miles range on fuel so frequent stops look like feature of our trip, should be fun tho

Houx - absolutely. Up by the bridge, amongst the trees is a good parking spot, and the GA pass gets a bike in and out.

It's the same as it ever is, one vehicle per pass, 7x5m of space per pass. In theory no requirement for a camping pass for foot campers except where sites are going to numbered pitches it is harder to be a "walk on" unless you have someone with a space for you to camp on.

They were hanging passes last year so no issues about sticking them to windscreens, but they were trialling the barcode scanning system, the theory being that if a pass is scanned "in", it can't be scanned "in" again until it has been scanned "out". Now...how well that works and whether they'll be using it this year is anyone's guess.

If you're planning to ride the bikes in and out of a proper campsite area a regular basis you probably do need to get hold of passes. Not as difficult as you might think as many folk have extra passes to get them enough space (so we have 4 passes for two vehicles). You might find your fellow campers happy to loan you an unused pass.

If the scanning system is up and running I would have said Houx would be one of the hardest to get them in since there is nowhere to sneak past the security because it is inside the General Enclosure.
