TAMORA ROOF SECTION INTO BOOT !

hi,is there away that you can get the roof panel in and out of the boot without getting it wedged , stuck etc
sometimes it may fall in ! but each time is different, has anyone got any tips ? or best way to put it in,
took it out of the boot tonight but it got wedged and some of the rubber trims came off which is a real pain,
there must be an easy way to do this lol

Lengthen the ram which is attached to the boot and the car,
remove from the car, unscrew each end, add a couple of wahers and screw ends back in.
This will lengthen the ram allowing the boot to open a bit more so making it easier to get top in.
Hope this makes sense.

What he said, works a treat. Just increases the angle of the boot lid enough to not make it a squeeze. You still get the rubbers coming off occaisionally, and getting a roof bag does help with that, and protects the roof when you have luggage in the boot.

Have read on here about screwing the rubber strips into the rood panel, but I have not felt the need yet.

thanks boys i'll give that a try ,the boot did cause the problem ,and making it go at a higher angle should be alot easier to get it in and out thankyou keith

Wife brought me mine from Leven

It's the same one as the Griff / Chim but works perfectly

Yep, Leven for me too. Fortunately, I only live down the road to them, and not on an island in the channel, like Bart.... But yes the Chim/Griff cover does the job. I have had to add some duck tape to the bag, because it still rubs in places.

Yup, Leven do them. Alternatively, a couple of black bin liners do a pretty good job too

Hi Ian how's it going' living on the rock does have one or two advantages most companie deliver and knock the VAT off!!!

I tried the black bin approach but didn't quite get on too well they kept flapping about in the wind as i struggled to hold on to the roof and place the bag on

Also not sure that it created the right look having such a great car and putting the roof into refuse sacks

So has anyone tried to screw the rubber strips into the roof, to stop them popping out? Roof bag or not, they always come out a bit.

And another thing, any tips on glueing that rubber thing back onto the top of rear pillar. Always comes off...

I tried screwing the strips in place, and they just pulled out anyway.
