The interior of my 500 is a little tatty (never recovered from a bodged ICE install really) and I am considering a retrim. However, I was never 100% satisfied with the colours I ordered, particularly the carpets (ButterScotch) and the dash/door tops/bolsters (Biscuit).

Carpets shouldn't be a problem, I just need a purple set. The dash/door tops and bolsters however ... Frosts do some leather/vinyl paint and can colour match. Anyone tried this? It's supposed to change the colour by absorption, not as a layer of paint on top (which would be VERY naff). Also, is the strip at the windscreen base (with the vents in) accessible, and if so how do I get it out? My dash needs to come out anyway for a re-veneer (told you it was getting tatty!).

I want to change all the "leather" to magnolia, and probably get the purple carpets piped in magnolia too.

Having switched from a dark blue to magnolia interior, I'm not sure I'd go for the same again. Looks great but its a bugger to keep clean!

If the next Tiv is going to be a daily driver I'll probably stick to dark colours inside.

Back to topic - might be worth trying www.douglasvalley.co.uk for the bits you need?

If you go for magnolia, it would be worth making the dash top a different (darker) colour, or you'll get bad reflections.

douglasvalley - good idea.

squirrelz - its is already magnolia with a darker (biscuit) dash top. I just don't like it! Take your point about the reflections though.

I'm in a similar position victormeldrew. My carpets are dark blue piped grey and the interior is full leather and all "Wedgwood Grey" (yeh, I thought Wedgwood was blue as well!). I wanted to liven up the leather bits with some contrast dark blue (bolsters, gaitors, door tops) and get new carpets as they have worn behind the seats and the flaps to the door catches. Can you buy carpet sets and d.i.y. fit them? I can't afford a re-trim and if I could get just the bits required would keep the same colour. If I have to get a set, how about going mid-grey with blue piping?

I thought colouring leather options too.

A TVR dealer put me onto some guy who recommended a product called - (now you'll have to forgive the spelling here, because it's almost certainly wrong) - Conelise, which is basically a spray on gig, which you have to layer on.

That didn't really turn me on, to be honest, and I'd like to find out what other options might be too. The trouble with breakers is that if you want a two-tone option, the it's twice as hard to satisfy what you want.

How do you wear the carpet BEHIND the seats? My feet go forward of the seats and the only thing that ever gets behind the seats is dust and fluff, neither of which are particularly hard wearing on carpets.

I think you can get carpet sections, try TVR Gear and search for carpet.

Be interested to hear how you get on finding bits from breakers - considering trying the same myself shortly.

I've got a biscuit coloured interior, which can't be far off magnolia and I don't get any reflections - I assume you mean light reflecting off the dash top ?

Apologies if I haven't taken time to reflect on the question, please don't glare......:mycoatison:

If you do source from breakers and want to integrate what you find, TVR Centre use a guy called Peter Jay who repairs and stitches the leather panels in non bucket seat TVRs (i.e. not Tuscan/Tamora/350s)

I know Peter well and he in fact did the retrim, and hood on my Chimaera for a very reasonable price.

What did he do for you? Straight repair? Or new panelling?

Complete carpet retrim. He did a great job but the only thing that im not so pleased about is the actual quality of the new carpet.
If i do buy a complete set of carpets from the factory i would get Peter to fit them for me.

He recently recovered my Targa top for a very modest sum too.
