thinking of replacing the shocks on my t350 ,

GAZ shocks @£500

NITRONS @£1000

is it worth paying the extra £500 ,dont intend to use the car on track. ?

Fitted Nitrons approx: one year ago now, and it did transform the cars handling & especially stabalised the car at high speeds. I think it is safe to say that you will notice the car more stable and positive at higher sppeeds rather than general driving.

I haven't played about with the settings as yet.

Can't comment on gaz's as I haven't ever had them on car to make comparisons.
Hope this helps! Remember any half decent new shock is going to be a huge improvement over shocks that are on their way out.

Nitrons are the ones to go for, had them fitted to my old T350, totally transformed the car's handling and ride. Certainly worth the extra.

I fitted Gaz Golds and Steve Heath drop links to my Tuscan Red Rose (2000 W Plate). Transformed a very twitchy and unforgiving car into a far more manageable and pleasant car to drive, especially on not so great A and B roads. Changed them myself (relatively easy) but got corner weights and Geo professionally setup. Never got the chance to try on a track but superb on road. I think Nitrons would excel if you planned a lot of track days.

My experience is similar to Mr Lock Pick's, except I have just fitted Gaz Golds. I haven't had time to play about with the settings yet but the difference is mainly noticeable at high(er) speed, i.e. fast motorway and dual carriageways

I was hoping they would make driving the urban streets around my house a lot better but the improvement on potholed town streets seems to be minimal, though a play with the settings may resolve this.

I fitted them myself which took 6 hours but saved myself 4 hours of labour costs. Only a good socket set and minimal swearing required, and I am sure the skin on my knuckles will grow back in time. The Geo setup will be done after a few weeks of bedding in.

If it is just for road use then I think the consensus is that Gaz Golds will be enough. Racing Red's are an option but I am not sure if anyone has them on yet as they are quite new.

I fitted the new Power Bilsteins and (correct!) Eibach springs last year on a T350 for ca. £600 all in. Total transformation from original set up.

Racing Reds may be an option in between the Gaz and Nitrons on price, have had a few -ve comments about the Gaz shocks.

So ...... would a late Sagaris standard setup with Bilstein shocks benefit from an upgrade? Car feels well sorted at the moment and compared to Tuscan pre Gaz Gold upgrade is light years ahead. Great setup for road use, not tried on track as yet.

Dampers direct from Power and springs direct from Eibach - there is a thread on here with part no.s, but I can dig out the paperwork if you need them

The Saggy has a matched damper/spring set up that works extremely well particularly on track but some say a bit harsh on the B roads.

I am just in the process of changing my Nitrons to Gaz Gold on my 350 !

The reason for this is, my car when i bought it had a new pair of Gaz shocks on the front but standard's on the rear! So i wanted a matched set and deceided on Nitrons.


It has been a year since i fitted them and for me they are to harsh for the roads on the IOM ! I have done trips in the UK and the car handles and drives very well and if i lived any where but on the "rock" i would not be changing them !

So now i am refitting the Gaz fronts with new Gaz rears. I am not sure how the ride is yet as car is due back to me shortly so i can not comment on the difference between the two, but like i have said on better road surfaces the Nitrons are great. ;o)

As you may guess from what i have mentioned my Nitrons will be for sale ! My car is a dry weather car and shocks will be in excellent condition if you are interested you may contact me through my profile.

Eibach part# rear = D0897 and front = D0117 (I think that is the right wat round - they will know)
Prices were £33.20 each front and £28.17 rear + vat correct at 05/07

I think Eibach are the OE suppliers for the T350

IMO the Bilstein/Eibach combination is a first class quality upgrade, on a budget
