ive been out on a run today and found a few things wrong with my car , is it a nail or is it because its a tvr?.problem one ,the rear axle seems to be moveing when i floor the car. problem two ,the door does not operate the interior light and i can hear a noise some where when i press the door switch . problem three,is it normal for the red light to be on between the speedo and rev counter at all times . i thought it is the ignition light. the light gets brighter when the alarm is on and dim when the alarm is off ,but its is still on when the engine is running . can any one help

1 - There isn't a rear axle, it's independent suspension so check dampers etc

2 - What you can hear is the solenoid. Is the bulb blown, probably just a little wiring issue

3 - Which red light, it may be the ICE arning light or the handbrake, or the alarm light ?

the rear shock absorbers and springs are new and the drop links look in good condition. the bulb is ok and the light turns on and off with the switch i have a alarm light in the center, think its after market and a light is just below the rev counter and speedo ,as i said the light operates with the alarm fob ... bright when the alarm is on dim when the alarm is off even when the engine is not running .should this light be off when im driving . i thought this light is a ignition light and in most cars this means the alternator is not working

It wouldn't be very good if it got left where it was hehe I for one don't have any idea what you mean? - something clunking / banging around - tyres squirming - rear end slewing....

What state are all the rear suspension & wishbone bushes in? If they're worn out you could easily get the symptoms you describe.

Is it just a case too much power for the conditions causing a little twitchiness at the rear?

If you want a meaningful answer, get somebody who knows these cars to inspect it for you.

first thing to do if you suspect something awry at the rear is to jack it up very securly (axle stands etc) and get underneath. get a friend to pull at the rear wheel or push it with his/her leg while you feel each suspension bush for movement. worn bushes will give you rear steer on acceleraton/deceleration and knackered shocks/springs will give you tramp (wheel bouncing up and down, an unmistakable judder)

hope this helps

The diff bushes suffer from wear, do you get a dull thunk when taking up drive in each gear?

yes i think its a dif bush, now can you tell me what the red light is for between the the speedo and rev counter.ive noticed that it is bright with the alarm on and dim with it off ,should this light be on while i am driving as i thought it is the ignition warning light for the alternator .
