Roads near York/Hull to Manchester area
Discussion
Plenty in between York & Hull. Not entirely sure where you will be but if you have a look around North/South Cliffe, Market Weighton area there are plenty. Just stay off the main A1079 as it is littered with cameras.
Edit: If you wanted to head towards Manchester, why not take the A63 back? Some lovely stretches although I haven't been on it for a while.

Market Weighton to Ripon:
Take the minor to the junction with the A614 (heading towards Londesborough)
At the A614 turn right to Bainton, through Bainton to r/a
Ar r/a striaght on, B1248 to Wetwang
Left on A166 then right on B1248 just after leaving Wetwang to Malton
Take the B1257 from Malton towards Hovingham and continue to A170
Left on A170 to Thirsk
A61 to Ripon
No cameras last time I did this and good fast 'B' roads

Thanks for that Garstead.
Just been looking at a map and my original route of Market Weighton - Pateley Bridge - Kettlewell - Keld - Kirby Stephen - M6 - Home is quite a long way!! So might take your route to Ripon, stop off for a bit of lunch and just bring it back home and save that long route for a nice summer's day out blast!!

Definitely not felly. Undulates but with some good long views eg. the road to Wetwang. Sweeping bends, some long straights -plenty of variety.
The A170 goes over Sutton bank, worth a pause for the views.
Plenty of opportuniteis to get past anything slow moving without too much of a holdup.
I wouldn't question the distance as I've never clocked it but would definitey question the time suggested.
Give it a go and enjoy I'll be surprised if you regret it.

Garstead - sorry but didn't do that route!
With rail transport being as crap as it is - i arrived to pick up the new motor an hour late, seller kept me chatting a lot longer than i hoped over a coffee and weather was crap so headed home.
Plan was to arrive at Brough station at 11.15am and be in the car and on the way back for 12; but train landed at 12.15 and it was gone 2pm when i left Market Weighton and had a family do to get back for from 6pm onwards and needed to buy some clown shoes (no really! - it was fancy dress) - so headed home.
Plan is to go back though and do that - i was chatting to the seller and he's keen for it too - make a day of it in summer perhaps. Thanks for the advice anyway though!

Yeah, will do - local knowledge would be good!
I've bought a SEAT Ibiza Cupra 1.9 TDI 160 - not a supercar but still plenty of fun!
Chap i bought it off is replacing it with a new one so there'll be two Ibiza Cupras.
Will let you know though - probably just worth waiting for the weather to get better!

Quattrotom - just looked at your car pic on your profile.
Were you on the M62 on Saturday afternoon with the Mrs?
Nope, the only driving I did on saturday was Beverley to York at about 6pm?Were you on the M62 on Saturday afternoon with the Mrs?
The M62 is my normal stomping ground though as I was working and am at Uni in Sheffield.
Cheers
Tom
