How do Jonny
Looking to do Anglesey next with you guys.
The Cat is currently running Toyo T1-R tyes alround, much better than the previous Avons. I use these on the road (and track for now) but have a set of 13 wheels which I am looking at putting R888s on. In your opinion are these much worse than the CR500's or ACB10's
I also have a really thin ARB will a thicker one make much differnce?
Cheers

R888's are a cheap alternative. ACb10's are the ideal tyre (if you can be choosy about weather conditions) otherwise CR500's. They are more expensive but you get better value for money. You'll also more likely to get a more even tread wear so don't just look at the headline price of each tyre. Throughout a life-cycle the ACB10's aren't that far off the cost of a much cheaper tyre, IYSWIM.

Great track, good wether in spite of the forecasts, BUT horrible driving etiquette by too many (how many times have I been overtaken on the Craner (me doing 90), too many).
ChrisI agree, amongst many otheres there was a certain Lotus 2-11 which overtook me on corners all the time.
Otherwise a cracking day!
The guy in the 2-11 was reported to me in the morning and was reprimanded accprdingly. One thing that is worth mentioning is that, as I found out in the afternoon, a 2-11 can go through craner at 120mph+, no problem. I am in no way condoning people passing on corners, which is a definite no no on a track day. However if the pace differential is great enough, for instance a Radical or indeed a 2-11 passing a Golf GTI lets say, so long as both parties consent, then there is no problem overtaking around craner. I am sure Jonny at BaT will agree with me there?
If someone is passing people repeatedly without consent however, then its wristband off. But we need to know on the day.

v6ter - did you drive the alfa or the cat?
It's not just 2-11, I remeber the yellow Megane, 968, and a few other cars doing the same, surely my white car must have been invisible.
I bet Circuit Days people need to get more strict about it...

Whatever the pace differential, the slower car is likely to be close to or on its limitas it turns towards the left hand side of the track (just before the brow) and could be pretty unsettled bringing it to the approach of Old Hairpin.
Having a quicker car coming past in that area under those circumstances is NOT a safe option.
If you see a car with a large speed differential coming up behind, you could let it pass just before Redgate, or Hollywood is a good place, after that it's safest to wait until after Old Hairpin.

I was in no way criticising CD as I thought the day was brilliant. In all honesty I agree with your comments to an extent. It didnt concern me to much on the day otherwise I would have come and chatted to you guys. The 2-11 was quick but I think he was risking it a bit in places.
Overall though what a cracking day!

P.S.
I want that £20 back for the garage
I'll forward on the garage door repair bill to Donington! And yes one of the 2-11's was pulling a few dodgy moves around craner, thats why I went out with him. He seemed better after that.I want that £20 back for the garage

PS the Alfa looked fun, potential 4 up Ring car me thinks!
