We've got a 1999 A3 1.8T Sport that does a 100 mile a day commute, as I see it right now we've got 2 options :-

1) PartEx for a diesel
2) Convert to LPG

Has anybody had any experience of LPG on A3 and any comments?

WAIT!

The govt has committed to keeping duty on LPG at 4.5ppl until 2004, so in 2004 it could go up to the same levels as petrol and diesel, ie. 45ppl (ish). They're gonna announce it in November, so I'd hold off if I were you.

Get the A3 130 Quattro diesel. £500 chip and you've got 180BHP nut a whole lot more MPG.

And you'll get approaching 400 Nm of torque.

I have seen an LPG conversion on the 1.8T engine - it was being tested for conformance to the Powershift register.
Will try to find out whether it passed.

got to be a tempting option!

If you could that would be great as Discovery Developments initial look has the 1.8 @ 40% grant but the 1.8T at 0% grant

They are looking further for me but anything you can do would help...

slow response.....
the 1.8T passed, but it was developed by Beacon Technology who I understand to be in financial difficulties.
