Hi Guys,

I picked up my 360 Spider at the weekend which I love and have noticed that it's not always easy to get it into 2nd Gear. Is this normal or should I get it down the garage?

Cheers

It's probably not even a bit relevant but: every Lamborghini I've ever driven (from quite new cars to very, very old 'uns) has put up a big fuss when trying to select 2nd (or 4th...) whilst the box is cold...

Usually doing a short-shifts to third does the trick until everything is nice and warm. This could be the answer for you, maybe save going to the dealer and have them charge you for effectively saying the same thing!

Hi.
I knew before opening this topic that you had a 360. I have a 2004 360 spider and its exactly the same, I dont even bother trying to select 2nd until i have been driving for 20 minutes. Once the oil gets a little hotter its fine. Nice and embarrasing when it jumps back out of gear making you look like you've never changed cogs before.

I think it is because 2nd gear hangs at the back of the gearbox. I takes longer than the others to warm up. Mine's a bcensoredd in any gear until it's warm but especially 2nd!

This quirk seems to be quite car-dependent. Ive had 355s and 360s both with and without this issue. As others have said, nothing to worry about. Enjoy!

Cheers lads, phew...

I drove her earlier and see what you mean about once she has warmed up it's fine. I am slowly getting the hang of it and love the car so much.

Cheers

Well known fact of Ferrari ownership... 2nd gear is a pain, well until its warmed up anyway.

My manual 360 Spider selects all gears smoothly from cold.

Enjoy your new car.
