IMHO the worst thing about the Chimaera interior is the steering wheel.
I picked up a thread on here some time ago, which suggested a new wheel would be hard to source?

I therefore started a discussion with a British steering wheel manufacturer Mota-Lita (http://www.moto-lita.co.uk) and sent them a load of pictures and measurements from my 1996 Chimaera.

They have now confirmed that they can supply new custom high quality steering wheels with rivetted wood or black leather rims from £130. The wheel will screw onto the existing TVR boss and so is cost effective and will be easy to fit. For £29 they can also supply a billet aluminum centre CAP to fit the MOMO boss with a TVR badge.

For £224.50 + VAT they can also supply steering wheels covered with your choice of coloured leather.

I think slotted and holed wheels are available.

Give em a call on +44(0)1264 772811 if you are interested.

dont know who said it was hard to replace, as long as its a standard 6 screw boss, like momo nardi or the mainstream ones it will fit most wheels. you may have to turn the boss 90degree to get the screws to line but no trouble. and no offense, but your contact is far far too expensive

i have the momo race wheel on mine it looks factory as the alloy centre matches the clock's as in the pic above but without the wood, just a simple case of offering it up and drillig and tapping out the origanal boss, if you use the momo boss it brings the wheel further out nd i beleive if you swing the origanal boss around you will loose the self cancel indicater cam.

Quite like the standard wheel myself. Never really thought that it let the car down...

I have always felt that the standard steering wheel gave much of a kit car appearance given the trimmed, bespoke interior of the Chimaera interior. Whilst the Personal/Momo type wheel works well generally it doesn't fit the Chim.
I bought a wood rim but it wasn't so great to work with in the tight 'n' twisties, in the end I polished the spokes on the original wheel and it works so much better.

Just adding some knowledge to the pool...

If you know of a better deal then add some facts and figures to this thread.

I will upload a few pics when it arrives.

Moto-lita have now informed me that the £29.00 centre cap does not include a working horn.

A centre cap with TVR badge and working horn costs £69.00.

All prices plus VAT and Delivery.

The Momo steering wheel in the picture above can also be fitted without the centre ring over the horn button.
The horn button supplied with the steering wheel is held in place by that ring but the original TVR horn button can be made to fit by shaving a fraction off the plastic 'wings' which hold it in place.
