would appreciate peoples information on AA or RAC vehicle inspections before private purachase. Vehicle is in lincolnshire, so anyone who knows of any reputable garages who could carry out the inspection would be much appreciated!

Thanks

You are going to get your head bitten off asking that because it has been asked so many times before.
As your name is Anfield and you are obviously a Liverpool fan and because i feel sorry for you sitting in fifth place behind the mighty toffees i will answer, despite spending millions of pounds.
Dont use the AA or RAC to inspect your car as they are not "specialist" enough and wont take the ubdertray off which is waht you need. Cant help you with reputable garages in your area but Google or Ask Jeeves for specialist inspectors.

Hi there.

You could take it to Spalding to Kelvedons lotus specialist, or maybe they would travel at a cost. They are not that cheap but they know these cars inside and out. Would be best to have it on the ramp to really take a good luck. It is the chassis really they would check for signs of damage, which is easy to spot.

If you want any info on how to buy I would be happy to help by giving you some pointers, I have bought 7 Lotus Elises now.

Am in Grantham at times but not there again until Sept.

As above, get it checked over by a recommended specialist. The AA/RAC reports don't really cover much.

Where in Lincolnshire? It's a big big county, it could very well be closer to go to another specialist than Kelvedon.

My mate had an RAC guy come to do an inspection of an s1 in London and he was a complete lotus nutter, took the car to a local garage, knew about all the issues - hgf etc and had the undertray off. Maybe if its the only option you could specify that you want a guy that has experience with the particular cars.
