Co-operative Bank

O'm interested to hear of peoples opinions and experiences with the Co-operative Bank, for both business and personal accounts. What's thier online banking like?

I'm tempted by the free business banking deal offered to FSB members, and would also probably switch my personal account too, to take advantage of instant transfers. Currently with HSBC & First Direct.

We have an FSB Co-Op business account.

Their online banking has been recently a bit flaky (enough for them to write to us about it), but workable.

Our personal accounts are with Barclays, and despite the annoyance of 3 days to transfer funds, we're saving a great deal per quarter in busines banking charges we don't have to pay any more.

If you're an FSB member, it's a no-brainer, and if you're not, the bank charges savings and the free insurance for accountancy costs in case of a tax inspection make membership worthwhile without looking at any of the other benefits...

I have already joined the FSB for precisely this reason! I'm a little put off the co-op because thier web site was down all day yesterday, but the savings *are* very attractive.

I'm with the FSB and the Co-op as well and they have been good so far. A few problems with the online banking, but it seems that they are sorting it out and it should be back to norm soon.

I've banked personally with them for a decade and my father has used them for personal and business use for 20+ years and neitheh of us can make any complaints.
