It is worth taking my bike test before it gets harder?
Discussion
If it's in your mind to do it then now is the time, I wouldn't fancy doing the new test knowing that I could of done the easier, cheaper older one
The new test will require you to go to one of the new test super centres which may mean travelling and being on unfamiliar roads for part of your test, it will also become a lot harder as you know to pass and far more expensive to do so, both in the test fee and training. Training should also take longer to incorperate the new elements of the test.
As long as you are 17+ you can do one of the test versions as is now, you would need to complete cbt and theory first though before going onto test
october is when the new test comes in, so as the weather starts to get better expect it to become harder to get a test date as the rush to pass really kicks in

I was chatting to Dave the chief instructor at Metropolis and he reckons the new test will be easier from October, as while longer there is less of an on-road element and the off-road stuff is very simple and controlled (ie. emergency stop) compared to doing it in real-life conditions.
Not gonna stop me getting mine beforehand though
