Calling all cars 2008
Discussion
Well its that time of year again and I'm putting out the call for people to bring their lovely cars to show at the Dethick, Lea and Holloway village Carnival.
Those that have been before know the format - a lovely setting and a very traditionsl english village carnival with Tea tent, Marching band, coconut shy, ice cream and lots for kids.
Last year some very kind people even offered rides in their cars which raised a further sum of money for distribution to local community groups. This is very much a traditional event, organised by the villagers, run by the villagers, and with all money going to great causes.
This years date is Saturday 28th June, starting at 2.00pm at Lea Green, in Lea, Derbyshire.
There is also a cross country barrel race on the evening of the 26th if any of you fancy getting a team together (its a tough one cos the barrel is FULL!) I can let you know entrance fees for the race in due course.
Please e mail me through my profile if you intend to come so that I can make sure that suitable space is set aside for the cars.
Thanks in advance
Andy
