Alarm siren

It would appear that my siren is not working, when the car locks should you get any audible beeps, also when i open the rear clam when the car is locked the lights flash but no siren.
Is there a fuse somewhere that could have gone?

Had two alarm units replaced on mine. Also check the siren is plugged in. Look around the windscreen washer bottle area....

Exactly this happened with mine. It needed a new board in the alarm control unit and a new horn (a short had caused a component on the board to pop apparently). A (mobile) Autowatch engineer sorted it out for me - about £175 IIRC. If you want contact details email me.

Part of the British insurance industry's criteria for vehicle security says that ownership of the manual should not enable you to circumvent the security easily.

For this reason Cat 1 alarms have features such as all-black wiring with labels that are detached at time of install rather than coloured wiring. This means even with the manual you still don't know what to cut.

Also manuals are always split into installation (and hence have the 'juicy' details) and user manuals that are useless without the unique code of the alarm.

There is a famous saying that "security by obscurity is a route to disaster".

Just an update, siren/plug knackered, got a new one and fitted, all is fine now.
The guy i ordered it from was a bit suprised to hear these were on a plug, new ones come with just three wires to connect.

my siren broke recently, the mushroom part on the front where the air resonates round to make the sound snapped off. i found it laying on the undertray.

new siren 29 quid direct from autowatch.
