Speed camera van driver charged

The driver of a speed camera van that crashed into a speed camera sign has being charged with careless driving.
People honked, waved and stopped to take photographs after the van hit the sign on State Highway 6, just north of Murchison, on June 2.
The driver pulled to the side of the road to let some cars pass before hitting the sign.
He will appear in the Nelson District Court next month.
