Hi Newbie here, great site you have here. clap

Myself and another 2 blokes have just bought a Pug 205 1.6 GTI for doing the occasional trackday.
Living near Leeds we thought it would be a good idea to take it to Elivington to see how reliable it was and get us novices a bit of time behind the wheel.

It has been raced in stock hatch, so has all the rollcage and is stripped out etc, although does need new disc, pads and new tyres.

How many drivers are you allowed to drive the car and has anyone any advice for driving there.

Many Thanks

Al

Drive it like you stole it smile - it is an airfield after all.

The layout will depend on the organiser, but you'll probably go through a set of tyres in about an hour of spirited driving.

There's lots of grass/earth to run off into - and only one place where you 'could' hit trees after an off.

Pray for rain/snow as it makes it more fun.

Thanks for the quick reply.

A set of tyres in an hour blooming heck, i'll go first then.

Will we be allowed three drivers?

Cheers

Al

Put some P6000's on - they will last forever wink

Elvington is quite abrasive, but you'd have to be going some to destroy tyres in an hour in a light car like the Pug. Tyres are pretty cheap on small rims anyway. (New tyres may also wear more than part worn tyres - have any of you got a set that are nearly worn out?)

Thanks for the tip on P6000's will look into that.

The fronts on it at the moment are not too bad but, the rears are like slicks.
also what pads and discs do people recommend for the 205 1.6, will be tracked max of 5 days this year.
