Anyone got a Cayenne?
Discussion
If I had the spare cash I'd buy one as an everyday motor. I've looked over a couple at two OPC's and was very impressed with the interiors, much better than the new Range Rover I drove two weeks ago. A regular on here who currently runs a 996 has one on order having test driven one. Lets also not forget the Turbo version beat an M3 on a circuit in one of the magazine reviews recently.
A quite superb vehicle for the latest in on road fun "speedbump jumping".
I have read somewhere though, that Porsche have not sold as many units as expected in the US. This may lead to discounting and thus I would anticipate a higher level of depreciation than experienced by Boxter and 911 owners.

My old man picked his Turbo up this morning. They do look better on the road, and it is an incredibly quick car.
Suits him as he's too old for a 911 and needs the space inside. It's spooky to drive, feels like a sports car but obviously has Range Rover proportions.
About time people stopped knocking it I think.
Ok let me have a rethink..........um....NO NO NO !!!!!!
Came out the same as before. The Turbo cayenne is a fantastic achievment..BUT it looks (to the vast majority) horrible WHY, Porsche have been very arrogant with this car, nobody wants people curling up their lips & laughing at their car, especially when they have paid £70k for this. Autocar say there are now hundreds unsold in America & they are now offering discounts!! I have nothing against Porsche producing an SUV BUT WHY WHY WHY stick with styling that has been critised by all the press & is clearly hurting sales & image. look at Subaru's last attempt, they had to change it in the end. All Porsche needs to do is restyle the front end & it would sell by the boatload, but they won't because they don't want to admit they MADE A MISTAKE, Porsche don't do that. Rest assured they will HAVE to do an early facelift or get their fingers burnt.

Have seen a couple around my way - Watched a Turbo despatch a line of traffic with ease and ferocious sound!
Had a crawl all over a Cayenne S at Autobahn a few weeks ago. Seems that the Turbo is selling (seen a few being sold at over list price) but the S seems to be slow selling - I can see the residuals falling quickly on that one. A used one could make a good buy as a baby-wagon if we have kids in a couple of years. The wife seems convinced but then she wants my Boxster first!!
Autocar (the other week) had an article on a facelift for the Fiat Multipla and mentioned the BMW 7 series and Cayenne being likely to get imminent cosmetic surgery too.

Cut me in half and I have Porsche written through me, but they CANNOT continue to morph the 911 styling cues onto variable width/height/length platforms anymore!!! The aesthetic is a masterful one...for a 911, but short sighted when applied to Boxters, Cayennes and the new GT. Lets see a new direction like the 924/944/968 and 928 were.

Yeah - though surely they must have always had it in the plans that they would have to do a facelift pretty early in its life to bring it into line with the a 997-based family look anyway?
Though obviously they wouldn't tell this to people considering buying an early "ugly" version!

I have a deposit down on a Cayenne S for the missus but she still hates the look of the thing - guuna have to bail I am afraid - anyone want to jumpt the queue and buy my slot (deposit placed 2.5 months ago - 4 months to go - no spec agreed yet)
Post reposnse and we could agree off line
