1st of all I'm not selling my Exige S or using it in the Trophy.

Just thinking at this point but all comment's welcome regarding using an R in the trophy, want to make it lighter and will be starting with a basic R (no Tour/Sports pack) Obviously I should be able to sell anything I replace.

Exhaust will have to conform to all track's so will be having one made for lightness and performance (Air flow) rather then noise

Not sure how this year's rules stack up but I reckon an S1 is the car of choice for class A - mainly because caging up an S2 adds a lot of weight.

Whilst Gav Kirby won a lot of races in an Exige, he's a pretty good driver with lots of experience

That's the main issue I'm not a pretty good driver I'm rubbish which is why I'm getting plenty of instruction 1st. I've already got the Car (Well not me but we have it so to speak) Is he on SeLoc?

Just seen the other thread about the 'basic' 2-11. I think that would be the perfect starting point.

So have I but I'll give you a clue to what Mrs Boggy just said? Start's with F & end's with F

I stand to be corrected on this.... but I believe that irrespective of his undoubted talents, Gav needed a pretty large budget to make that Exige truly competitive.

If I were thinking about entering Class A .... I'd find the cheapest, sheddiest S1 111s I could and start from there.

I'm going to speak to Gavin 1st, nothing's certain as I only found out about this opportunity on Monday. We already have the car so we will be using that if any, I'm not going to win any races no matter how hard I try there are some very good driver's who are competing already

Frankly if you can get the car for free, get it in a fit state to race, and get it on the grid in short order, why worry too much about how competitive it will or won't be.

Just give it a crack, and enjoy taking part. I think we'd all give our right arm for a chance at that!

part of the rules for LOT is that 111R and S2 Exige have to run at relatively std weights (to counter their power advantage) in Class A

You really really, no REALLY want to read the regulations carefully before doing anything else its going to waste A LOT of cash e.g. according to 5.6.3.16 your custom exhaust would have to go

If you search the document for 111R the class A summary seems to be no modifications at all except mandatory safety stuff e.g. if the car your after comes with ECU remap or has LSD you'll have to pay the get em removed. Painful, but thats racing.

Tess Howell is running a 111R in class A.

Thanks Hans,

To my relief it doesn't have a LSD as it's a late 53 car, the I'll have to sell or swap the Ecu

Noticed I'm able to swap out the back box, also change some of the suspension bit's. It's all fair enough make's it fair for everyone
