thats what i thought, we'd like to use the audi v6 lump but the ecu needs to see the other electronic systems (ABS/TC/security/transmission etc)to run as far as i can establish

There are very few about, mainly due to the high cost and low demand I guess.

I beleive GEMS offer a system, not sure if its available yet but I beleive it will be soon. Only other company I know of would be Bosch, they have one available now but is pricey, around £8k I beleive. Wait a year or so and I'm sure you;ll have a better choice or more sensibly priced systems, I've heard omex may be looking to introduce a more budget type system.

i've trawled the net and could only find complete oem type systems....mainly for the static generator market. A friend seems to think that by using VAG COM we can turn off the extra systems that arent required, however an expert electronic car guru type chap rekons this would have to be done every time the car is turned on!! time will tell i guess?

Why not just use VAG COM ? what would you need to turn off, that might come back on again ?

Plenty of people use it for re-tuning with good results on other engines. So why not yours ?
