Top 3 games this year will be GTA:IV, MGS4 and Fallout 3 in my reckoning, only one of which is a PS3 exclusive, it's not like the days of the Megadrive and Snes where owning one will mean you miss out on all the good games.
Quite looking foward to GT5 and Ferrari challenge myself.stephen300o said:

gran turismo 5? (will be best game ever made)
mgs?
killzone 2?
little big planet?
eight days?
haze?
time splitters?
o and uncharted which is alright out
Metal Gear is the sole reason I own my PS3 and I can't wait for June 12th, so you can have that.mgs?

Best game ever made? Best racing game possibly, if they sort out a few issues with it, plus I doubt we'll be seeing anything of the full version of GT5 before 2008 now, especially with Prologue not being out until gone Easter.
Killzone 2 and Haze I've yet to be convinced by, whether either can compare to Halo 3's sublime multiplayer mode remains to be seen.
Eight days could be good, or it could be another getaway, until we've seen more than a couple of glimpses which could be pre-rendered in trailers I'll not hold my breath.
LBP is a big divider, some people are proclaiming it as the second coming of Christ, I myself fail to see the appeal of making contraptions with my mates, much like Forge on Halo 3 I'd much prefer to be shooting them in the face than moving blocks around.
Timesplitters I can't see being a PS3 exclusive, and will no doubt appear on the 360, so we'll take that off the list.
Uncharted is very good yes, but I can't see it appearing on any of the best game ever lists any time soon.
To throw a few others into the mix:
Gears of War 2
Alan Wake
Forza 3 (which although not announced probably won't be far behind GT5)
Fable 2
Ninja Gaiden 2

both. just choose the one that has the features and games you want (PS3 by a mile for me)
As everyone seems to be talking future games, How about Final Fantasy XXXXXXIIIIIIII or whatever number its on now, going to be huge worldwide.
One that may be a sleeper hit is The Agency, well worth a google if you've not heard of it.

Hey hodgy, its final fantasy 13 i think.....As everyone seems to be talking future games, How about Final Fantasy XXXXXXIIIIIIII or whatever number its on now, going to be huge worldwide.

game says that gt5 will be delayed until early 09
and apparently time splitters is an exclusive... and forza or any other racing game can't even compare with gt5s physics or car selection, and if car modification, weather changing, online, damage and of course the top gear track are included.....skylinecrazy said:

Top Gear test track, fantastic, I love driving on barren airfields with no interesting scenery to speak of, why not include Bruntingthorpe with a few choice cones too...
Of course, my choice of Forza's physics over any previous GT game is based on my 8 years of real driving experience and I understand that your superior knowledge gained through magazines and Top Gear may well prove me wrong.

tbh you can't judge a game that isn't out yet, and nor can i, and forza 2's cars look like their floating a lot of the time.

Recently got a PS3, had a 360 for ages, i was going to wait for GT5, but what the hell.My opinions..
Both are great, but the online side of the 360 beats the PS3 hands down imho, at least currently it does.
The voice comms on the PS3 sound a bit pants to me where as the 360 just sounds like normal phone conversations.I had numerous failed connects/invites etc online with the PS3 and a few mates who have owned the consoles for a while now suggested that was quite common?, hardly ever happened on the 360.There is no ability to read messages or view friends online etc when you are in a game on the PS3.If you get sent a message, you need to quite the game to read it! You do see a small tag flash up to say xxx is online or has left, but no way to tell what they are doing and no way to jump in and join them.
Also the 360 desktop (for want of a better word) is a million times neater and more organised than the PS3.You get simple tabs on the 360 with various things listed within, the PS3 version just reminds me of a huge .txt document.Saying that, you do pay for the LIVE service and the PS3 is free, plus these are not major negatives that should put you off, it's just not as polished an online experience on Sony's machine as it is on the 360.
Other than that, i get the feeling the PS3 is going to edge ahead in terms of graphical ability, but probably not enough to worry 360 only owners and only the uber fussy will care and or notice. The 360 still pumps out some amazing images and i feel if time is spent making an effort by developers, there won't be a massive amount between these machines. You only have to see large detailed enviroments moving around, such as those in assasins creed for example, to realise the 360 has a lot to offer in the next gen wars.It can still make me go "wow!", so tbh, graphics wise i don't think it will matter much. It's obvious to me, even at this early stage of ownership, that the PS3 is going to offer up numerous "wow" moments too. Uncharted for example looks superb on the PS3 if you take the time to look around, the GT5 Prologue demo looked great too (makes the forza cars look really rather bland indeed - but that may be down to the painting options on the 360?) and personaly i found it a blast to race.Much harder than the old turismos that's for sure, but the bloody annoying tyre screech still bugs the hell out of me on every single bend :/
I personaly prefer the chunkier 360 pad, but the super light (no rumble) and wireless (and wired if you want to charge it) PS3 pad that came with the machine is just fine to use.The bottom triggers can become a bit of a pain to use constantly though as your fingers can slip off, but i have ordered some clip on buttons for this so no problem there tbh, it's much like the PS2 pad, so if you liked those these will be fine.
Then, of course, you get a decent blooo ray player with the PS3 and the machine is much, much quiter machine when in use than the 360 (not sure if the newer units are more quiet though?).It's a heavy bugger too the PS3, but seems to only pump out a medium amount of heat where as the 360 can cook you a full English if you want it to.
To be honest, both have so much going for them that it was impossible for me to choose, so i got both.If i could only have one and had a gun at my head, well, i would have to think about what my mates were playing/owned and how important online play was to me.I would then have to look at games that were console specific with no chance of them appearing on various platforms and decide from that.At this moment in time, that would mean my money would end up in Mr Gates bank account.I have worn out my Forza 2 disc and i would buy the console for this alone for example! It's a shame we are not a year further down the line and asking the same question really, because if more people i knew had PS3's and the online side of things were tweaked a bit, i think my money then would end up in Sonys pocket (if i really could only choose one console that is)
The best advice i can give is that true gamers always find a way, so get second hand versions of both when the prices drop

I'm not judging a game before it's out, merely saying that the car choices if anything like GT1 through 4 will result in a big exclamation of 600+ cars, yet when you dig deeper it's more like 400 cars and the extra 200 are imprezas with a different wing, or Evos in a different colour, plus you get complete oddities that whilst may be interesting to drive once are far too pedestrian to consider using for anything other than novelty value. You're the one proclaiming it will be the greatest game ever made before you've even laid hands on it.
