Bilstien v Gaz
Discussion
I have read old posts through the search tab and am more confused as to which shocks to go for.
I only use my car for road use and my main dealer recomends o/e bilstiens (£130 each).
Most of the comments on PH pit after market shock against another after market shock.
Anyone driving with Gaz, what are they like compared to o/e Bilstiens.(comfort,handling,noise.)

If you do not want to have any adjustablity then the oe Bilsteins are perfectly adeqaute for road use, and give a decent handling and ride quality.
Everyone will tell you that you get what you pay for, and any new dampers will fell fantastic compared to your old worn out ones.
Personally I do not rate the Gaz from my experience with them on my old S. I have Nitrons which are superb, but you're looking at £350 a corner.
My Dad's 450 Chimaera still runs orginal Bilsteins and they work very well, and his car handles very well from what I watch chasing him about . . .
It is very attractive to upgrade to adjustables, but if it's road use, not bothered about adjusting them etc then stick to the oe ones.
Slightly higher spring rates and good dampers do help to improve the overall set up of the car though, as with all things though it depends on your budget.
