A post to relieve the Thom-vacuum a bit

Don't know, who has seen that before, but some surely haven't:

British Humor 1 - Porsche 911 0

A pity, Clarkson didn't take a Boxster though

Just tried it myself, Marki.
Worked well, both download and playing.
Have you tried LH mouse click while holding down Shift?

Uh, just noticed, the file is 45.3MB

I've seen this one a while back and it did annoy me.

Clarkson is in my opinion one of the finest print journalists in the UK, although mainly when he writes about other subjects.
TV stuff again when he does it on non car stuff he is brill- anyone see his prog on Brunel? it was excellent & the piece on France (repeated the other night) was also ace, but on car stuff he and I dissagree on a few issues.

For example he has hated & slated all the 911s up to the 996, basically coz he can't drive.

You simply cannot get in a pre 996 911 (particually pre 964) and drive very hard & fast down a twisty road-particually in the wet, without posessing a decent level of driving skill.

Yet if you can master the car & have a level of driving skill slighly above that of a glass of water, it gives you a driving experience not offered by another vehicle.

Not everyone wants a car that is so easy to drive fast you may as well take the driver out of any decisons other than steering, he has just never seen or seemingly understood that simple fact.

Sorry for a bit of a rant there, but his hatred of 911s has always bugged me just in case you couldnt tell

So would anyone regard this as 'British Humor' or is it just primitive viewer-level raising whckshite?

He knows I would storm Clarkson towers with a few red beret trained Geckos if he did Auctung snell snell duz lizard attack

Acutally the Red Baron jr * (dunno what else we can christen it?) is a new one on me, my normal daily work & back pack mules over the past years have been Mk2 Golf GTi's- I've had 5!! I love 'em- you might find it hard to belive from your recent sideways stint but the Corrado has better rear end grip than my old Golfs, passive steer rear axle & all that makes the Corrado much harder to break free

If I ever sell my porker & have a few spare £ & despite my desire for a a very keenly priced 968CS I might have a cunning plan up my sleeve to make it rather quicker too.....

* ha ha just thought howabout I call it the red crab, coz its red & it seems to prefer to go sideways

Clarkson's lack of driving ability has been well aired, I think he's even admitted it himself. He really is an a$$h0le.

I don't think I've had a sense of humour bypass, the film really did pi55 me off. A waste of a car, even if it was probably a rusty write-off, it could have been saved. (Though, notice how the engine had been removed when it was dropped on the caravan.)

He's alright by me - reckons the 944 Turbo is the best car Porsche has ever produced.

Clarkson. Can't drive. Hates Porsches. Sounds more like his idol Alan Whicker every time I see/hear him.

HOWEVER who else could compare the sound of a TVR Tuscan to Tom Jones bending over in a prison shower. It makes me smile every time I hear one taking off.

You have to forgive the porsche hating for that.

Tim

Well I'd say that merits a very definite douze points from les Belguiques, non?

My God, Alan Whicker; a leviathan of smart delivery - smoother than Desric Von Lynam smeared in baby lotion.

Ah, but who can top mine and DeRestrictors all time hero, the quite unique:

Fred Dibnah

What a leviathon of a gentleman. Quite a wonderful person. And delivery that puts old Des to shame.
