Hi, after reading the PH heros story.... im WELLLLL in the mood for reliving my playstation days! have looked ont he PH classifieds... and seem to be 2 standard cars.... both for the 6-7k mark...

basically... im paying 9k for my S3 + 1K for insurance...

when i could pay.... 8K for a liner and 2k for insurance....

hmmmmmmm so tempting!!!

I want a standard one partly... as a blank slate.... and partly for insurance. have had a chat with newera about importing one for me...

They said to budget £8800-£10500 for a low miler stage one....

sounds alot to me, but i know its newera so car would be totally MINT, do you pay more for a fresh import? is it worth paying more as i dont know the cars very well?

Also in standard form.. i rekon it would be useable as a daily runner??
i only have a 6mile commute to work everyday and the odd 50mile trip to the gf once or twice a week.

Hi Graham,

A R32 would be a bit of a downgrade from the S3 in terms of interior, you sure you could handle the retro step down?

Regarding newera, they are VERY expensive to buy cars from.
Sure they are mint, but I'm sure you can get a fresh import from a cheaper company, then spend the money to get it up to the condition of a newera import, but still save a bit of cash on the side.

Try private imports. They seem to have a knack for getting in very good quality cars. Ask for John - he is a good lad.

Edit: I came across a minter of an R32 for 7.5K. After you have added finder fees and import costs etc you will be looking at approx 10K.

my r32 gtr cost me 9k 2 years ago.it had uprated suspension and 17inch wheels with 255/40/17 tyres.apart from that it was standard.the hard suspension and fat tyres made it handle like a dog.it was like riding a skateboard down the path.great on a track not on dodgy uk roads.
suspension and wheels standard now and the difference is like night and day.superb

i looked at 10 of them i think over the course of a year and around half were accident damaged.look at the chassis rails underneath anything else can be fixed.

i have never dealt with newera personally but i have never heard a bad thing about them in the skyline forums.you get what you pay for.i don't think they are overpriced because you are paying for their experience in picking good cars and you'll get a warranty.(i presume)

it will cost you more to run a skyline but if you really enjoy driving it will be worth every penny!

I wouldn't buy a fresh import. The quality of cars coming off the boat is getting lower and lower. Get on the GTR register, do your homework and seek out a cherished car from a Uk owner.
That's what i would do.

I love the looks of the 32 GTR but personally couldnt live with the interior

You need to look at plenty as well, luckily there are lots around to choose from

You can spend a lot less than £10k to get a good R32. Plenty on the forums in cracking condition for less than that.

There is a black beautiful one about for just under £9k which has had the engine rebuilt etc etc etc. Looks very very tidy.

I would certainly buy a UK car that you can examine in the flesh. There are a good number of extremely well cared for cars out there, gtr.co.uk would be as good a place as any to start.

I loved mine and with the power that is so easy to extract from them, the last thing I was looking at was the interior!! You will save a lot on money in the long run buying a sensibly modified one as you will end up tweaking it smile

If you want a mint, and i mean MINT, low KM (24k) standard example. SVA Imports have one for only £8K !!!!
