Paneling the forward inside firewall.

Has anyone paneled the forward inside firewall? I was thinking it might clean it up a little for carpeting and so on. Are there any concerns anyone would have with doing so. I look through the build manual, and have not found any reason not to. Any thoughts?

I did but left the square for the master cylinders out.

I am going to do it, but I think I will attach the panel with rivnuts.

I would be concerned that it may find some harmonic frequency and rattle like hell.
See no reason why not to add the panel and again no reason to want to take it off again.

I was going to make the same cut out. I too am concerned about harmonic frequency rattles. I was planning on using Dynamat extreme and Dynaliner on both sides. Adds a little weight, but would be worth if its going rattle at all. Looks like I will move forward with the plan.

I filled mine with sound deadener and riveted it on, I was told that some heat does get through from the radiator, can't think that you'll want to take it off after. Don't do behind the pedals or you might foul the pedal movement, I just covered the inside of that 'square' with heat mat and carpet. I also made up a panel for just behind the radiator to keep some heat out of the battery compartment, fixed that with rivnuts (still gets 'warm' in the cockpit though).......
