Well my supercharger belt snapped during some spirited overtaking today, which robbed me of quite a bit of power. Luckily I had enough momentum to complete the manouver.

I spose it sounded a bit like snapping a suspender belt - albeit with a lot less satisfaction!

I got on the blower to Dennis Priddle when I got home and he recommended ordering one from a "Bearing Services Limited" franchise, which I did, at about £14, not too bad. If it fits I'll post up the size etc (Pistolar take note).

Incidentally the car was still driveable, although I could barely get it above 70, as the 'charger just milled around in the airstream allowing an athsmatic flow of air. Yet again the Wedge got me home!!!

Oh only some Eurojap saloon, probably a Toyota, nothing interesting.

Thing is I have to keep it on low gear at the mo due to the clutch slippage, and it might be the high revs that did it (the clutch only seems to slip at around 2k rpm).

Wow - you got yourself a baaargin there Leigh!

Different belt though, you'll need a poly-V for that pulley.

The inlet manifold is a handy extra in case you want to start chopping it about.

Belt sourced and replaced.

Installation wasn't too hard, although I had to remove the idler pulley completely to get the belt over the two toothed pulleys.

Part number is a 1360X8MX30, i's an M8 x 30 belt length 1m36.
