Have been using the Wedge to commute this week, whilst the Focus awaits some TLC and an MOT. It has been faultless - even the drive in this morning in the rain was quite... entertaining? yikes

One minor thing I have noticed - when I am crawling along in traffic (before I get onto the country lanes!), the speedo 'hops'. I must be doing about 5 mph max and the speedo is jumping between the stop and 25. As soon as I pick up speed, it settles down (albeit with a tiniest of waving).

Any ideas? Is it a mechanical jobbie or electric? '84 350i Series 1, with a Series 2 dash wink

Cheers,
Rick

IIRC it's mechanical. Could be the cable or outer is kinked or frayed and catching while it rotates. If so, send it to Speedycables and they will make you a new one.

Mine's a bit jumpy up to 10mph, but not as bad as you say.
But after 10Mph is the most acurate speedo I've had in any car. within 2% of GPS.

Thanks for the advice - any idea whether or not the Unipart GSD380 (off the SD1) will do the trick?

Leigh - I must have a different speedo to yours as mine starts at 10mph! smile

QSC 3105 Q.Hazell would be my guess, fits +8 and SD1 unipart no.GSD 363 ,it may just have come loose at the gearbox end,if not take old one and compare, get length to suit. Tempus smile
