Anyone want to hazard a guess where we can now get parts for these.

Unfortunately I find service oriented only.

In other words ship us your gearbox and we'll fix it types only. £70 postage, £125 labour standard and then we charge you for the bits it needs. Considering you can get a second hand box from a breakers for 300-350 I can see the bill will rapidly be worse than that.

No one will actually sell anything other than 'gearbox kits' which contain gears I don't need, and none of the bits I do. Reverse switch, breather tube, oil seals.

So far tried
Gearboxman
Transmission components
Competition transmissions

Any other ideas?

Does it use the same parts as other T5 boxes, i.e. cosworths?

If so - Burton power - http://www.burtonpower.com
ot T5 gearbox - http://www.t5-gearbox.co.uk/

Glebe engineering also do upgraded parts http://www.glebe.co.uk/fdev.htm
they're chat says: Glebe Transmissions Ltd. have designed and developed a straight cut gearkit for the Borg Warner T5 and T55 gear box. This was commissioned by TVR Sportscars to build this gear kit to withstand 500bhp and 465lbs.ft of torque! It has been a massive success.

Yep there are a couple of people who'll sell you rebuild kits, but not quite what I need.

My cogs gears and syncros all in good shape. I need just the input and output oil seals, the breather tube, reverse switch and gaitor for the gearshift mech.

In other words everything external that wasn't made of metal. None of this seems to be included in the rebuild kits and to date not got anyone interested in selling me anything other than the standard kit.

Could you get the seals from a bearing supplier, they usually supply seals as well? Or even a normal motor factor if you tell them its for a Ford they maybe can get the reverse switch and breather tube? At worst find a Cosworth with a t5 box and get its registration and chassis number and see if ford still have themyikesbiggrin

Okay apart from the fact that the T5 in the cosworth had different diameter input and output shafts. Well according to competition transmissions it did frown. No motor factor lists TVR of course. But it might be an idea to measure it all up and approach a bearing supplier, but I was going to vcall that plan B smile

all seals have part numbers on them,a good bearing supplier should id them, the reverse switch i would've thought, should be a standard ford item, why would tvr change it? same with the breather tube.
