[quote=Wanta996(Gotta)]Yellow 99 with 34k on the clock in Autotrader for £44k. Very tempted but scared off by various stories
What kinda stories??Taffys:-
My car is an 02 coupe with 25k on the clock and virtually perfect..but...
So far this year at main dealer rates I have had .....
7 ball joints all covered by warranty £3500 (a real weak point on 360's)
New Clutch free of charge from dealer (would be circa £1300)
Rear anti roll bar and bushes £600
cambelts £1300
4 rear tyres £1200
4 wheels refurbed £400
Fuel £1800
So total costs £9000 for the year of which warranty covered £3500.
By no means a cheap year but the car is so awesome that it is more than worth it.
Edit - Here is the Yellow one a few miles from me - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/413523.htm

360s don't need to be expensive to run - don't take Taffy as a typical example...for instance, I got my cambelts done at a reputable indie for under 400 quid - 1300 is ripping the complete and utter pish.
ain't that right chris
As for the original post - miles good, condition good, F1 bad (IMHO) but still looking mid 50s anyway..

dont use that as a typical example. I do drive mine to work every single day and have done for the past 2 years. The cars on 75,000 miles now!I'd say I spend on average 3K per year maintaining it and as you can see - it gets driven, rain or shine!
They are very reliable and will commute day in, day out in London traffic, no problem.
Just don't ask about MPG

Cant comment on cost, but 7, what on earth have you been doing to it!! They are a common complaint, but I have never come across one that has done 7!
New Clutch free of charge from dealer (would be circa £1300)
These go every 12k if F1, or near double if manual. Cost is about right.
Rear anti roll bar and bushes £600
Cant comment on this
cambelts £1300
Crazy. Independents charge approx £400.
4 rear tyres £1200.
Again, crazy. £800 would be more like it.
4 wheels refurbed £400
Again, crary. I pay £40 per rim which (I use the same guy my local main dealer uses)= £160
Fuel £1800
Well, it is a ferrari. Truly dependant on how many miles you do and how hard you drive it!

Hey Guys,
Recently bought my first ferrari. The 360 F1,"aka" lady in red! absoultey loving the car.. it is the ultimate traffic stopper!!! Just little concerned with the clutch,, there is hesitation when i pull off! is this normal ? The car kinda revs then the cluch kicks in normally causing my to pull off quite jerkly!! Am i just needed to get used to it?

Very true Greig..........but as I have no indies near me I have to bite the bullet and pay main dealer prices. Although my car was serviced on time I think it's previous owner failed to notice the suspension noises and to be fair most people would have hardly noticed but it annoyed the hell outta me and I wanted it perfect and Ferrari had to pay for the privilige.ain't that right chris

If I had an indie near me then I would not take it to the main dealer......I know it costs more but it is less hasle to have it all done in one place.Cant comment on cost, but 7, what on earth have you been doing to it!! They are a common complaint, but I have never come across one that has done 7!
The lower front joints were clearly making a knocking sound but as the car was in it was given a thorough check..... the other component wear was minimal but I wanted it corrected and was prepared to stand my ground with the warranty to have as it should have been.
I think it depends on the type of roads you drive on .....main dealer told me they can last from 3000-7000 miles and they have even had 430's with very low mileage needing joints renewed.

It is just something you will get used to over time. Try feeding in the accelerator a bit slower.Recently bought my first ferrari. I am going to look at a 360 Modena at the weekend. It is '99, F1, rosso corsa, crema leather, red carpets. Scuderia shields. Red calipers. 10500 miles. FFSH. Brand new clutch, ball joints and annual service feb '08. RHD. Double concours winner.
Whats it worth?
I would say about 50K assuming it checks out.Whats it worth?

T1Grm - yeh, i thought and would have paid 52k for it (turns out is has a couple of annuals missing early in life as well). It is in very nice condition but the vendor wont drop to 52k though, which is a shame.
Search continues ...
How much is the vendor asking - you might regret not going another coupe of K as while there are lots of cars out there - good ones can be few and far between. As for the annuals missing in early life - are they completely missing or simply late - a lot of ferrari get serviced somwhat based on use and time of year - most cars I looked at had a somewhat irregular pattern, usually done well under mileage requirements, but timing wise some at 14 to 18 months rather than 12 - the reason for this is that the cars simply don't get used and especially if the service is due in the winter months many owners will simply leave the car unused and have it serviced in spring before it gets regular use again - nothing wrong in this and as I said very common, so don't let a couple of stamps put you off if the last few have been pretty much on the money and the current one is correct.Search continues ...
Services are comletely missing (albeit not much mileage done in the interim).
Oh, no scuderia shields and it has black calipers. So a virtually no-option car.
I doubt that the budget is going to add thousands to the value somehow!!
Lets face it, reality is that 360's are not at bottom of depreciation curve so the longer I leave it the cheaper they will get! Summer might firm up the prices, but then with the current economic climate it might drive prices down - afterall everything is going up in price and so people have less and less money available. The news has more doom and gloom on a daily basis.
185 ferrari 360's for sale on autotrader right now. Plenty of choice. Although as you say there are lots in poor condition.
Anyway I am in no rush to buy unless it is the right price!
