How the hell are you supposed to replace the flexible fuel pipe in the engine bay? The fuel rail is no bother but how the hell do you gain access to the lower end where it joins above the gearbox? irked

Cannot say I have done it, but I did have a look at mine to check condition a while back and figured my plan would be to use a 1/4inch drive ratchet+socket rather than a screwdriver.

Not easy tho

When I did mine I removed the plenum, I think you can leave the trumpet base as there is just enough room.

Mine cracked and started to spray the engine bay a few years ago.

Purchesed some replacement pipe and managed to do the job, but a bit of patience needed to do.

From memory I think I taped the new hose to the old one which allowed me to pull it through past the bell housing to meet the metal pipe on the chassis rail. BUT, I do have a 2 poster ramp which made the job a lot easier so I am not sure how much harder it would be on stands.

It's a bit fiddly, but if you take off the plenum cover, (may need to bend the metal mesh at base of screen slightly), you can then get to the fixing above the bellhousing. Best to use proper fuel line clips and not the jubilee hose type clips.
Just takes a bit of time.

Ive just changed mine as i had the plenum off, relativley easy as there is plenty of access. I must say though I was shocked at the state of them, lots of cracks that you cant see or tell they are there untill you get the pipes off. Quite scary really.
