Hi Jeremy, I too have just purchased a 4.5 LW after selling my chimaera 500. How are you getting on with it?
Different in power delivery from the 500 eh!

Like a dream!

Not only the awesome performance, but I notice how much more 'planted' it feels on the road.

No regrets at present - recommend it to everyone

Is it the case that all the 4.5 Cerberas are light weight or is this an new thing or an option?

Also what do they do to loose some weight?

Or is it a new Blackpool rumour and just as real as the Loch Ness Monster?

Maybe I'm too cynical.....

The 2000 models with the twin headlamps supposedly have a lighter weight bonnet and wings (?). The claimed saving was 40kg if I remember correctly.

Not sure about 40 kg lighter. My car was on a scale from the german TUV and it was 1217kg with empty fuel tank.

Hey Loon, did you buy the Camel Yellow 4.5LW Hawthorns had for sale recently? - just interested as I was discussing the very same car with them recently.

There were a number of changes made to the 2000 4.5LW model:
- new lights
- lightweight body parts (bonnet, boot, doors?)
- changed roofline (more headroom) with revised windscreen, A pillars and rear window surround
- Tuscan style seats & 18" alloys

So, you can now all become saddo Cerbera spotters!

Does it show that I've had to research my new purchase?

Let's not get too carried away, 40Kg is only like having a nearly empty fuel tank compared to a full one and I don't notice any performance detriment when I fill up.

Mind you, they probably need to loose some weight to make up for the AJP8 not producing it's quoted power......

I'll get my (Nomex) coat..

Do the changes apply to 2001 cars and current Cerbs, or was it a 'millennium special' only?

Applies to all new 4.5 Cerberas from about Nov '99 onwards (although it may have taken a little time to 'phase in' all of the changes).

Too sad TVR doesn't offer the choice between the new Tuscan style headlights and the "classic style" headlights (which I much prefer )

Your preference might change if you had to drive one in the dark - new lights are phenomenal.

Recently bought a 4.5 cerbie must be a heavey weight as it a 1999 model - still going everywhere in it a loving every drive from 250 miles motorway blasts to quick burns to Tesco. The car has behaved impecably still scares the bejesus out of my from time to time.
Good luck with hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
