Anyone seen Autosport this week?

There's a small article in this weeks Autosport magazine:

Aston Martin is looking for a partner to build, develop and part-fund a GT racing programme based on the chassis of its Vantage V8 model, according to AUTOSPORT magazine. The Ford-owned marque has been in talks with a number of motorsport engineering specialists about entering into a joint venture.

The result would be a car most likely aimed at taking on the Porsche 911 GT3-RS and Ferrari 360 Modena in the GT class at Le Mans and the FIA GT Championship's N-GT division.

Aston is looking at a racing return after being encouraged by Ford's top brass, but the car-maker cannot commit to full-budget programme on its own.

Prodrive Engineering, ORECA and Ray Mallock Limited have all entered into negotiations. Aston's official line is that it is still planning its racing return and nothing is yet certain, but it has hinted that a decision could be due within weeks.

Can't wait!
