the firm i used to get evo and skyline bits from has quoted me the following prices for ferodo ds2500s for the noble

front 68.00
rear 85.00

how does these prices seem? if you guys think they are cheap, i could probably save some more on top of this if i did a group buy

what you all think?

Because they don't just melt when you go on track and deposit themselves all over the disks and as a result last much longer (more than twice as long on my car which admittedly is heavier than a Noble). They brake better, give a nicer pedal feel (subjective) and don't leave you with a car that judders on brake application.

All the above is true even on road they are miles better than OEM however there is a draw back for the road as low speed squeal could be a problem for the vain at heart hehe
IMO of course.

i've got a standard brake set up on the m400, thinking of changing fluid to dot 4 plus, and ds3000 with the standard discs for the minute. will this be a problem? will change to grooved discs when these get worn

have nowhere near the performance or confidence in my brakes compared to the previous set up on my gto3
- front ap grooved discs
- dot 4plus
- ds3000's all round

pedal was going spongy last week - will this be fluid starting to boil?

cheers

Too hard for the road, all youll do is wear out your discs, on track go for the RS29'

hi adrian

had ds3000 with grooved ap's on gto3 for a year and seemed good enough for the job. will these be too hard and cook the standard discs on m400? if so not too bothered as changing to grooved ap's is a future plan

are pagids that much better? and twice the price?

thanks

conleth

Not sure about the heat, thats really down to your driving style, if you ride the brakes they're going to get hot, The Pagids really are that much better and they are much kinder to your discs.

Slightly back on topic on price for the DS2500's

I ordered mine from Plans and they were around 105 quid if i remember rightly.

The box came with the Ferodo part number FRP3083H, which if you have a look on the web seem to cost around 70 quid inc VAT

www.yozzasport.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=clio_v6_230_255_ferodo_ds2500_front

so I reckon your price is about right . If you can get a group deal more the better.

Back to the debate over which are best.... as I've not tried the 3000's ........

I'll get my coat
