Anyone know of an adjustable incar revlimeter for the monaro
Discussion
So nobody knows of one then?
I want it so I can switch between different ranges, 4.5k to 6.5k when the mind is else where whilst learning to drift at the UK practice events.
I did the silverstone one at the beginning of last month and I think i held my own with 20 others drivers. (I'm sure they would say otherwise - just got to master the transitions but can hang left and right corners - btw monaro steering lock is pants)
I cooked it a few weekends ago, sad story but it's coming back with a balanced crank, cam, forged rods, forged pistons, some headers, swapping the SC drive to the crank and running 15psi (I think, maybe 12psi), kaaz diff, harrop cover, ARP bolts, new fuel system in spare wheel well, poly bushes, and a set of D2 agjustable suspension, baffled sump.
The valet mode didn't work last time and not sure if it will work this time so was after an alternative.
I always hit the limiter, in all the low gears (1st to 3rd) when it was set at 5,800 and over 6,000 in the dry and wet. It's was running 520 before it turned into an expensive smoke machine.

I'm not sure that a rev limter will help you unless you get it to dump your boost aswell.
A traditional rev limter will cut the fuel and lean out your mix - especially if you're supercharged. If you're lean all day there's a good chance it'll go bang eventually.
The block of wood might be the best (and cheapest) idea.

6200 on my 5.7
That is a nice level, I went straight pass that yesterday and no cut off ! A warning bleeper would be nice also, just like that one on the cold engine limit.I suppose you could look at the valet mode, maybe it wasnt plugged in neatly...
SA Might be worth looking at your tune if its not hitting the limiter at all!!! Might just be set artificially high

LS2 RPM limit is 6600 normally stock. Probably due to slightly better heads and cam.
A tune can change it, but I doubt anyone would bother as most tunes are for stock engines which wont really benefit.
I set my LS1 to 6500, more to get it out of the way than to raise it. Hitting the limiter sucks. It cuts fuel and can cause problems due to total lean out.

What Valet mode were you using? The efilive one works fine as I used it myself many times. You can set max MPH and/or RPM with that. Just flip a switch. The valet mode didn't work last time and not sure if it will work this time so was after an alternative.
You just need to earth an ECU pin with the switch to enable/disable it.

Thanks for the answer, it has put my mind at rest, i think that I was within just a few revs of hiting it then the other day. Oh i do agree with your comment regards the fuel cut off, but that is better than the ignition cut.A tune can change it, but I doubt anyone would bother as most tunes are for stock engines which wont really benefit.
