A few years ago I saw motorcycle with a flip number plate. IE The top part of the plate flipped down to cover the bottom and at the same time revealing different numbers/letters. It was almost certainly a mass produced device of very high quality. Are these flip nuber plates still available? What happend if they are not? Thanks. rolleyes

Why would you want one unless you were desperate to be involved in consistant illegal activity.

I would think if you get caught with one then you will find yourself with a spell inside for a min of a few months, possible a year. Peverting the course of justice is not something judges are to keen on.

If you mean this; http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/fliptip.htm the company that made them are no longer in business.

but if you were looking for one, I might know where one could be obtained......

I've got one of these on my bike, of course i've never used it, but it does attract attention from other bikers wanting to see it flip.

Alternatively, if you are so keen to mislead "the authorities" to the identity of your bike (OH PARANOIA: BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING ME) why not just steal the number plate off someone elses bike and use that instead.

And why bother with road tax.

Or insurance.

Or a license.

Or paying taxes...

In fact, lets have a revolution brothers......!

I heard that the company manufacturing these were forced to stop making them. As for the legal issue, they are not the correct size, but like many products, they are not ilegal unless you use them, not sure if that applies to this though. Whether i would get away with it if stopped i don't know but i'd certainly use the 'it's for track days' comment.

Haven't seen the ones that fold in the middle, but almost any US aftermarket kit shop stocks holders that flip the plate into the underside of the tail.

Makes perfect sense to me - ride your bike legally, taxed, insured etc but when you get to a particularly good stretch where you are going to go for it, give yourself some anonymity.

Yeah. Anarchy. rollseyes

Your not a pikey are you ?
No, a champagne socialist with fascist sympathies, an abundance of sarcasm and a keen sense of humour who enjoys poking fun at those who take themselves too seriously.

Oh, and by the way, "your not a pikey" should actually read "you're not..."

With such a poor command of the english language is it any wonder the country is in such a state... wink

I invented them.....made them and sold them smile

Started working on a new version....using LCD technology for the car....got busted, and 2 days later was busted for the bike one too! Not good....and very expensive!!!

Still I sold over 2000 units, glad to hear some are still in action!! Mine was going strong on my old R1 until I sold it a couple of years ago

In what way were you busted? For using them or making/selling them? I can't see how they could do you for making & selling them?
