My 1997 MR2 (2.0L16vGT)T-Bar passed its MOT yesterday. It has never failed an MOT yet, and it is 11 years old now, and has done 100,000 miles. I bought it 8 years ago and the only thing that has gone wrong with it is one of the main lights failed to pop up which was fixed in the next service. It is still on the original clutch and still has the original exhaust system, and only a slight little bit of rust under the drivers door.

Not bad for toyota - in fact bloody brilliantthumbup

You can't beat Toyota for reliability. I reckon I'll get another 80-90,000 miles out of it.

I think I'll be sticking with toyota for my 2nd car.

My 1993 car has absoloutely no rust on it, none at all. Amazing quality, it's no wonder Toyota has taken over the world. Just a shame they seem to have lost the ability to produce an interesting affordable drivers car (after the demise of the MR-S of course).

Cheers,
Rob.

My wife's 1995 MR2 passed its MoT on Thursday. One of the exhaust gas figures was high but a quick clean of the injectors fixed that. Again, barely a trace of rust. Great machines.
