Hi everyone, as a resolution I am going to get my 1986 geep working. After a long rest in the garage, it needs some action...but unfortunately...its bost
Built by my dad when I was a wee nipper, helping with my yellow plastic novelty screwdriver, Jemimah Geep has been handed down to me. Although my street cred rides high as I drive past in my '88 1.0L fiesta
I can't wait to get good old 'mimah back on the road.
But here is my dilemma...do I purchase a knacked up old sierra from the scrap yard, with a petrol engine so I continue with the current 2.0L after some carburetta and stater motor work?...or buy a knacked up old diesel sierra to double the MPG and lower the insurance...time is not really an issue but i havent looked at scrap yards yet...so I guess I'm really asking, is it worth the effort of the diesel changeover?
any thoughts greatly appreciated, thanks in advance...

Hi
As I think I mentioned to you last year if you want to look at and have a ride in a 2.3 diesel powered Sandero I am willing to come over to yours with ours.
I even currently have an old Sierra estate with a complete 2.3 diesel lump still in it at my parents house.
We are just waiting for the warmer weather to remove said lump so the body can go to the car grave yard in the sky. We would then store the engine either as a spare should we need one or to sell on if someone else wants one.
All it would require is a gearbox as the one on it is shot.
Let me know what you decide.
