Clutch master cylinder leaking
Discussion
My Tasmin 350 -84 is pissing into the footwell.........
Anyone who can assist me regarding:
1. How to remove it? Is it best to remove the pushrod from the clutch pedal? I had a quick look and can´t see how to do that.
2.Repair kits or a new cylinder? In case of repair kit.....from which car?
Any other useful tips and tricks are welcome.

The clutch master cylinder on my Chim is originally off a Hillman Imp if thats any help.
Not sure of the part number though, and not sure if it is the same as those on Wedges.
Fantastic enthusiasm but your part is probably the same as used on an Imp, I doubt that TVR really did nick it from the scrapyard. Hmmm, on the other hand...Not sure of the part number though, and not sure if it is the same as those on Wedges.
Thanks Dickymint.....just what I was going to ask!
Seems that it is a sort of bolt holding the bracket to the pedal with the rod screwed into.....Seems that it is supposed to be removed with e screwdriver and the end is messed up! Not impossible to remove but a grinder is needed.
A lot easier to unscrew the rod.......
What about putting it back? Screwing the rod back a few turns wouldn´t harm the seals, would it?

Turning the rod should not be a problem to the seals.
My experience:
Overhauled mine with a seal kit and still ok after a couple of years of use.
Seems that there are two possible problems:
- Bore not ok, or oxidation etc wears the seals very quickly
- Wrong angle the rod has to the bore ( possible on wedges....). If not ok even a new master cylinder will have problems again in no time.

While I´m at it........
Is it just to unbolt the slave cylinder and pull it out?
/Anders
Yes. (reply short enough?)

Probably you have don't already, and the reply wasn't quickly enough.
A remark: it seems possible that other master cylinders then rover SD1 were used. So it could be that if you have a repair kit for it it is not the right one. I was able to check before buying a repair kit: as there is a rover sd1 in my garage next to the wedge.
Good luck with getting your wedge back on the road.

Here's a stockist for the Lucas SP2102 kit. I'm sure they would post you one. http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/BRAKE-&-CLUT...
If you google Lucas SP2102 you get lots of cross references.

As for further information, got my overhaul kit from a standard parts shop brand is hitech. Rimmers in the UK also do a kit. Have a Rimmers kit now to try to get my 27 years old rover sd1 back on the road.
If you need the part number, just let me know and dig out the box that is still kickingn around somewhere in the garage.
