Me, I actually did a few jobs this afternoon.

I had a look at what's involved in changing the seals on top of the steering rack and have decided to let that job wait 'til I'm taking out the rad to have it leak-tested. There's quiet a bit of pipework to be moved to get the rack out.

I fitted new handbrake shoes and adjusted the handbrake to get it to work as well as I possible could. It's still not good (i.e. compared to a "sensible" car) but it is way better that it was.

I adjusted the drivers side window to get it to close fully against the top seal to (hopefully) stop the annoying wind noise at speed.

While I had the door apart I also cleaned the multi-plug contacts inside there.

Finally I found that the drivers seat back had loosened itself from the base (it's only secured together by two screws low down) so I tightened that up as well.

You'd know the Summer is on it's way, wouldn't you?

We're all in the garage again.

Well I have started to try and clean up the chassis, kind of wish I hadn't bothered now, nice clean metal under where the powder coating exists, but where it has flaked off its quite rusty and pitted. Can't even see the extent of corrosion under the sills.

Had the exhaust off,welded up stress crack around bracket,put de-cats back on after Mot,sounds wicked!!!

Put the engine back in
Fitted new Mirrors
Fitted new Bonnet
Fitted new boot
Attached a rear towing eye
Fitted new speedo

I changed a 90deg corrosion heavy steel water pipe for a shiny stainless one, was long over due, then had a 250 mile drive, half in high winds and pouring rain and it did just over 27mpg, don't really know why I checked that though.

Got her up on axle stands and got the gearbox off to get the clutch changed (slave seals finally gave up the ghost a few days ago). An unenviable job to be doing on a gravel driveway I can tell you. Will obviously be renewing quite a few bits now that everythings taken apart.

Refitted the lambda sensor on the even bank and connected the reverse switch.
Connected up the electirc power steering pump again.
Sanded back primer and put the final coat of Satin onto my newly made lights.
Cleaned up the tailpipes and straightened out a dent in my spare set of Std rear pipes.

This week hopefully get the lights bonded into the body, collect my linked de-cats from work that "should" be done.

Then get the exhaust back on, driveshaft heatsheild and drop here back on the deck.

Aim for first fire since July 2007 next weekend! Hopefully.....

I've dropped an Allen key about 10 minutes ago - now sitting below the engine. Awaiting a long stick with magnet so I can retrieve!

I topped up the clutch fluid, watched a few air bubbles appear whilst pumping the clutch and my cold gear selection problem is resolved

Picked her up from APM today. Had new suspension all round - what a difference, wish I'd had it done ages ago.

Well i cleaned it again, and then drove it quite briskly in the sunshine just in case this storm thats coming is the end of the world does that count?

Got mine on the 2 poster yesterday,
removed gearbox and stripped ready for overhaul,
took both manifolds off and rewelded all the cracks up,
ordered exhaust wrap for both manifolds,
Removed and stripped front wishbones, sandblasted and going for electroplating tomorrow,
ordered powerflex bush kit.
binned front shockers, got pair of pro-techs to go on,
turned up pair of knurled knobs for removable trim panel.

Looking forward to getting it all back together and going for a good blast.

The old ones are currently displayed in a tasteful arrangement on the kitchen worktop. The missus is

This is the long way...

Take off the exhaust.
Remove heat shield from above exhaust.
Slacken off center adjuster on handbrake cable.
Fit new brake shoes to rear hubs. <-- Swear a lot when the springs won't go back on <-- This bit's optional!
Adjust rear shoes using the adjuster on the hub, so that the disks turn without binding.
Adjust centre adjuster (the one under the heat shield) to take out any stretch in the handbrake cable.

Lots of odds and ends of interior jobs.

Finished fitting the recovered back seats.
Ran extra wiring for a future permanent camera install.
Fitted the new front speakers now I have got the spacer rings covered.
Got the car pc all connected and largely set up.
Fitted and adjusted a pair of 4 point harnesses (on snap hooks for "easy" removal)
Took the door card off to try to stop the drivers window binding on the rubber - partialy successful.
