Has anyone here had or heard of speed 6 engine failures?

Hi

I've heard the speed six engine is supposed to be one of the most reliable tvr engines built, lasting 24 hour races etc. Has anyone here had or heard of speed 6 engine failures?

Also forgot to ask - do the later T350's have slightly different engines or are all lumps the same, equally as reliable and strong?

Check out the speed six forum mate, has all the info you need. I'd bear in mind though that poeple post on such forums if they have a sob story, tending not to if all's well.

I really don't think we are helping the OP with information confirming the huge strength and reliability of the Speed 6.

But as noone else will...to the OP, if your question is serious, you need to know that the Speed 6 engine has a very poor reputation. This is based on many peoples' experiences, but there are still quite a few that have not had bad experiences.

But, really, there are quite a few important bits of the Speed 6 that are actually made of cheese, well if they had been made of cheese, then the engines may not quite have the poor reliability reputation that they have gained over the years.

24 hour race? They barely last 24 hours parked on the drive without the engine running.
