There's 2 very slightly different designs of brake caliper IIRC. One sits closer to the hub than the other accounting for the difference in disc dimensions.

I'm not sure there was any reason behind it other than stock availability when the car was built.

They will both fit pending if you have the 5mm spacer's to take off if required.
I'd give you the numbers if I had them in front of me.

The rears on 400's and 4.3's were solidhehe

If I were you I'd measure them. And then speak to Mike Virgo (AJP Griff)

He'll supply the right ones at the right pricethumbup
aka TVR Supplies.

Thanks for the replies.Have calipers with spacers so i assume 53mm height, but will measure to be 100% sure.Sorry for earlier confusion was refering to vented type[1996 model].Still can't understand why my discs have 8 holes, probably supplier issue.Cheers,Dave.
Hi Davewavey,if you have spacers with your calipers then you will almost certainly have the 53mm disc height. This is more common than the 58mm height discs used with the calipers without spacers. You can sometimes find discs with 'extra' holes, this is not uncommon, and is to allow for different stud patterns/pcd's to be used with the same disc.
If you need any more info feel free to give me a call, anytime. All the best,Mikesmile
