Stopped by my local dealer yesterday.
Sales guy told me all about the factory shut down etc
He also mentioned that the TI was now going to be a mainstream model rather than a limited edition, the bad news being that it is no longer as well spec'd as standard, the good news being that one can now order from the full options list (e.g. BOSE)
Of more signficance however, he also said that the Q2 diff was going to be standard and the new car was lighter. Can anyone shed any light?

It's not the proper mechanical Q2 diff for some bizarre reason. It's an electronic diff which will try and do the jon of the mechanical one and they are calling it Q2.

No significant lightening has happened other than you can now get the V6 with front wheel drive and the JTDm four wheel drive system is lighter than the old V6 four wheel drive system. There are also some new lighter alloys, but the hoped for lightweight high tensile steel doesn't seem to have come through yet.

good stuff - sounding nice as well?
economy not too much of an issue to me due to low miles and company mileage rate....2.4 is just the best engine in the range by all accounts (even dealer said V6 was 'rubbish')
reminds me, dealer said that the '08 cars would all have the 210bhp engine (i.e. including the Q Tronic that only have the 200bhp version at the moment)

I've heard that the new V6 cars will be lighter & have an Italian V6 engine again, & no 4 wheel drive, now they may be worth waiting for economy not too much of an issue to me due to low miles and company mileage rate....2.4 is just the best engine in the range by all accounts (even dealer said V6 was 'rubbish')
